16. The Art of Rockefeller Center
Christine Roussel is the Archivist for Rockefeller Center and has written the authoritative book on its public art and a popular guide book on The Center. For many years she was an art consultant to Vice-President Nelson Rockefeller and, as a friend, was privy to his stories about The Center. Her lecture provides a unique and personal view of the works of art that embellish this Art Deco indoor/outdoor urban complex. There are dazzling current color photos and 80-year old archival photos showing artists at work.
